Empirical relationships between porosity and the mechanical properties of tuff
Abstract
Empirical relationships have been developed between porosity and three mechanical parameters of tuff - cohesion, angle of internal friction, and the stress at onset of dilatancy. These relationships are explained qualitatively using a model proposed by Sammis and Ashby (1986) .
