Abstract

Glaciotectonics is defined as the mechanical action of glacial ice on the substratum. The author seeks to differentiate more clearly between glaciotectonic processes and other glacial processes, particularly erosion, and deposition by lodgement. It is, however, concluded that since the processes naturally coexist, one should not always expect to be able to separate out their geological products.
