Abstract

Landslides occur in severely gullied areas, in road cuts, embankments and in steep residual or colluvial terrains. Heavy rainfall is the main causative factor for most slides. Both the state of knowledge about extent of landslide processes and state-of-the-art landslide prevention and control are rather low in the country.
