Abstract

This study explores effects of partial cement replacement to assess the strength and durability of M20-grade concrete using various combinations of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs). Ternary, and quaternary blends were prepared by substituting cement with Fly Ash Class C, ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS), alccofine, and micro silica at different percentages. Tests for compressive strength, flexural strength and modulus of elasticity were performed to evaluate the performance of each mix. The results show that specific combinations, particularly quaternary blend (MQ1, MQ2, MQ3), significantly improves compressive strength compared to conventional concrete and ternary blends (MT1, MT2, MT3, MT4) also achieving high strength levels. Additionally, SEM analysis was carried out. These findings suggest that the use of SCMs can enhance concrete properties, offering a sustainable alternative to conventional concrete for various structural applications.
