Abstract

The fintech industry in India, and Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) in particular, has grown quickly, but because of market volatility and a lack of transparency, determining their intrinsic value is still difficult. Five prominent fintech companies—Paytm, InCred, Lendingkart, Shiksha Finance, and Policy Bazaar—are the subject of this study’s dual fundamental analysis, which consists of both quantitative and qualitative analysis. While qualitative analysis looks at management quality, governance, competitive positioning, and sentiment, quantitative analysis uses ratios of profitability, liquidity, efficiency, and leverage. Contrasting performance is highlighted by the results: Lendingkart exhibits volatility with a partial recovery, Paytm and InCred show improving financial trajectories, and Shiksha Finance and Policy Bazaar continue to struggle with profitability even though their liquidity positions are stronger. According to sentiment analysis, the public has a favorable opinion of Paytm and InCred, a moderately positive opinion of Lendingkart and Policy Bazaar, and little knowledge of Shiksha Finance. In order to assess fintech NBFCs, the study emphasizes the significance of combining qualitative and quantitative data, with implications for investors, regulators, and academics in developing financial ecosystems.
