Cognitive visualization: leveraging AI to uncover hidden in data
Abstract
Cognitive visualization makes complex data easier to understand by fusing cognitive concepts with sophisticated visual analytics. It goes beyond static charts when combined with artificial intelligence (AI), allowing for intelligent and adaptive visual interfaces that reveal patterns that are frequently hidden from view. Big data’s exponential growth creates major interpretation challenges because of its high dimensionality, noise, and scale, which overwhelm conventional visualization techniques and increase cognitive load while impeding prompt decision-making. This paper suggests an AI-driven cognitive visualization framework to solve these problems. It makes use of explainable AI approaches to improve transparency and trust, dimensionality reduction for intuitive visual mapping, and unsupervised machine learning models for pattern recognition. Interactive dashboards facilitate quick exploration and insight development by offering user-friendly, context-aware representations. Tests on real-world datasets, such as taxi trip data from New York City, show that the framework successfully finds hidden clusters, anomalies, and feature correlations that are not visible with traditional visualization methods. The results show significant gains in user efficiency, interpretability, and pattern recognition. By decreasing cognitive effort and facilitating data-driven decision-making across sectors including banking, healthcare, and transportation, this work offers a scalable, domain-agnostic approach to big data interpretation.
