Abstract

Wind turbine blade failure is a major problem for the renewable energy sector, causing major economic losses and reduced energy production. This research provides a new way to address this major problem by increasing the maximum failure rate of the teeth. Leveraging state-of-the-art image processing and machine learning technology, the system will be able to detect various tooth defects, including cracks, erosion, and edge damage, at an early stage. This will lead to timely maintenance, optimize wind turbine performance, extend service life, and increase the overall reliability of the wind farm.
