Abstract

This research presents a machine learning-driven system designed to provide personalized Ayurvedic skincare prescriptions for a range of beauty-related skin disorders. Motivated by the need for accessible and culturally appropriate health-care solutions in Sri Lanka, the system integrates traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with modern artificial intelligence techniques. By analyzing facial images, the system can accurately detect and classify common skin conditions such as acne, melasma, and hyperpigmentation. Leveraging machine learning algorithms, it generates tailored treatment recommendations based on Ayurvedic principles, including herbal remedies, dietary suggestions, and lifestyle adjustments. The solution is available in Sinhala, Tamil, and English, ensuring usability across diverse populations. Experimental evaluation demonstrates the system’s potential to provide effective, affordable, and culturally relevant skincare solutions, bridging the gap between conventional medicine and traditional practices. This study highlights the value of combining machine learning with indigenous knowledge systems to develop innovative, personalized, and inclusive healthcare technologies.
