Abstract

Snakes are well-known for producing highly toxic venoms, generally composed of multiple components in nature. Various other species – such as pufferfish, several South American frogs, and some spiders – also use chemicals that are extremely dangerous to humans, whilst a number of plants generate very toxic molecules, such as curare and strychnine.
