Abstract

Cancer remains a global health challenge, emphasizing the need for early and accurate diagnosis. Modern lifestyles and environmental pollution are causing cancer to pose an increasing threat. Nanobiosensors, serving as portable devices for swift cancer biomarker detection, have gained significance in clinical medicine for diagnosis, management, and cancer screening. Despite the unchanging principles of biosensors, nanotechnology progress has empowered nanobiosensors with great potential. Conventional methods reliant on identifying carcinogenic cell features are specialist dependent, time consuming, and costly. Biosensors have emerged as popular, quick, cost-effective, and highly sensitive detection tools, dependent on biomarker availability. Here we explore the potential of metal oxide nanomaterial-based biosensors for improving cancer diagnosis. We discuss the properties of metal oxide nanomaterials, their integration into biosensors, and their applications in cancer detection. Challenges and future directions are also addressed, highlighting the promising future of this technology in oncology.
