Abstract

Rodent behavioral paradigms serve as a cornerstone of preclinical neuroscience, enabling researchers to probe the neural basis of learning, memory, affect, sociability, and motor control. Rats and mice are especially valuable because of their genetic manipulability, well-characterized brain circuitry, and behavioral complexity, while their short lifespan and methodological flexibility make them suitable for translational studies.
