Abstract

The global market for brain-boosting foods, nutraceuticals, and supplements has significantly grown as consumers increasingly seek functional foods that enhance cognitive performance, improve mental well-being, and prevent neurodegenerative diseases. Traditional foods, particularly those rooted in indigenous cultures, have long been recognized for their potential to support brain health. These foods are playing an increasing role in promoting brain health, enhancing mental performance, and supporting overall well-being. With increasing interest in natural remedies and cognitive wellness, many of these foods are now being revisited through the lens of modern scientific research, bringing them to the forefront of the global functional food market. Traditional foods, dietary supplements, and nutraceuticals formulated with bioavailable ingredients from these traditional sources are powerful cognitive enhancers. This chapter explores the potential of traditional foods, dietary supplements, and nutraceuticals formulated with bioavailable ingredients from traditional sources as powerful cognitive enhancers. It highlights their growing significance in global markets, emphasizing their role in promoting brain health, enhancing mental performance, and supporting overall well-being.
