Abstract

Organic pollutants have been a major source of environmental degradation, further impacting the ecosystem and leading to serious health concerns. Researchers worldwide have investigated various advanced materials for applications in environmental remediation, such as metal alloy photocatalysts. The present study has focused on elucidating the principles underlying photocatalytic reactions, multiple types, classification mechanisms, and synthesis methods. It also discusses photocatalyst’s importance in water remediation and accentuates their role and significance, especially in detoxifying organic pollutants. In conclusion, it provides future prospects for the discipline by outlining potential routes for environmental technology and scientific research and implementation.
