Abstract

Fire prevention considerations do not stop when the construction of a building is completed. It must continue into the operational phase of the building and be evaluated often. With each modification, temporary event, or repair that is made to the building, fire safety must be analyzed. “Small” changes over time may diminish the building&s;s level of life safety. The Station Nightclub Fire is studied to understand what led to the devastating fire and loss of life. Temporary events are not immune to fire; therefore, they must be evaluated carefully to ensure life safety and fire prevention practices are applied.
