Abstract

This chapter describes the second phase of the computed tomography (CT) imaging process: image reconstruction. This is a completely mathematical process that uses the data collected during the first phase to produce or reconstruct a digital image. This chapter begins by explaining the concept and then discusses the protocol factors associated with reconstruction, reconstruction filters (algorithms and kernels), matrix size and field of view (FOV), and recon filters.
