Spaces with a Manifold Stratification
Abstract
Due to a steep increase in unstructured data outputs from new technological devices, such as electronic images, the internet, RNA, DNA, and protein data, regular statistical analysis on numerical spaces or even on manifolds, where data used to be studied, became obsolete. A new way was needed of organizing objects extracted from such data, by regarding them as points on non-Euclidean metric spaces that have some singularities.
