Abstract

Humans have strived hard to practice gender equality and have a mutually respectful place in society and workspace. The advent of artificial intelligence (AI) or intelligent agents as we call them has brought back the biases in gender due to the absence of the other genders in machine learning and AI, where the programming of AI is predominantly white male, and hence the bias. The need to use AI for all aspects of business— from recruitment to client management and customer care—has brought the need to have AI that serves and supports humans without eroding the values, which humans have painstakingly built in the last few centuries. The chapter elaborates with three mini cases on these issues faced as AI integrates to human work environment.
