Abstract

The existing strategy utilized to collect patient information has to be reexamined in light of the rising number of documented incidences of security breaches that jeopardize individual privacy. Based on the experience with bitcoin and the blockchain technology it uses, researchers know that there are methods for encrypting such data. In this chapter, investigators discuss the problems associated with the current methods for managing individual health data and offer a new method for facilitating the exchange of such data between different institutions. When the information is made available to researchers, the solution will be found to boost clinical efficiency and research. Providers, hospitals and clinics, insurers, and consumers would all benefit from the blockchain-based system solution that has been offered. Individuals or patients would retain all rights to their data at all times. To solve this problem, the designer proposes using a private blockchain system, in which all participants are predetermined and mutually trusted, to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the data.
