Abstract

This chapter reviews evidence-based pharmacist care in thyroid disorders. Pharmacists optimize medication therapy, enhance adherence, and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to achieve euthyroid status and prevent complications. Economically, pharmacist interventions reduce direct and indirect costs via generic substitution, medication reconciliation, and decreased hospitalizations. Humanistically, patient education and counseling improve quality of life, knowledge, and satisfaction. Research demonstrates that pharmacist-led initiatives yield better clinical outcomes, cost-effectiveness, and patient engagement. Recommendations include advanced training, technology adoption, and collaboration to expand pharmacists’ roles. Recognizing facilitators and addressing barriers is essential to harness clinical, economic, and humanistic benefits of pharmacist care in thyroid management.
