Abstract

Glomerulonephritis is a serious inflammatory renal condition associated with high clinical, economic, and humanistic burdens. This chapter explores the pivotal role of pharmacists in its management, emphasizing their impact on improving treatment outcomes and enhancing patient quality of life. Through optimized medication therapy, monitoring for adverse reactions, patient education, and collaborative care, pharmacists contribute to improved disease control, reduced hospitalizations, and increased medication adherence. Economically, pharmacist interventions help lower treatment costs by promoting cost-effective drug use, minimizing complications, and reducing drug wastage. From a humanistic perspective, pharmacist-led counseling, education, and continuous support enhance patient empowerment, satisfaction, and adherence, ultimately improving quality of life. The chapter also discusses key research findings, facilitators, and barriers influencing pharmacist involvement, and offers strategic recommendations to enhance evidence-based pharmacist care. Pharmacists are 170 essential in delivering comprehensive, cost-effective, and patient-centered management for individuals living with glomerulonephritis.
