Abstract

This chapter explores the critical role of pharmacists in vaccination as a cornerstone of preventive healthcare. Pharmacists, due to their accessibility, medication expertise, and public trust, are well-positioned to deliver immunization services that improve vaccination coverage, reduce disease burden, and support public health goals. The chapter highlights the clinical, economic, and humanistic impacts of pharmacist-led vaccination care, including increased immunization rates, reduced healthcare costs, enhanced patient education, and improved quality of life. It also examines facilitators such as regulatory support and training, as well as barriers including reimbursement and public awareness. The chapter concludes with strategies to strengthen pharmacist-led vaccination programs through policy reform, education, interprofessional collaboration, and public engagement, positioning pharmacists as vital contributors to global immunization efforts.
