Global Power in Transition: Geoeconomic Drivers of a Tripolar World Order
Abstract
The global geopolitical and economic landscape is undergoing a profound transformation marked by the twin forces of de-dollarization and deglobalization. As traditional Western dominance faces increasing resistance, emerging powers, such as China, Russia, and a coalition of Global South nations are challenging the unipolar order led by the United States. This chapter explores the dynamics of a shifting world order, where the concentration of power is giving way to a tripolar structure anchored by the United States, China, and a resurgent Eurasian bloc. Through an analysis of currency diversification, trade realignments, and strategic decoupling, the study highlights how economic sovereignty and regionalism are redefining global influence. This chapter also assesses the implications of this transition for global governance, supply chains, and security frameworks. Ultimately, it argues that understanding these geoeconomic forces is critical to navigating an era of strategic rebalancing and increasing multipolar complexity.
