Abstract

This chapter presents the design and fabrication of a dual-band microstrip patch antenna with dimensions of 20 mm by 20 mm. The proposed antenna incorporates a slot cut measuring 4 mm by 4 mm to achieve the desired dual-band functionality. The performance of the antenna is evaluated using several key metrics, including return loss, fractional bandwidth, gain, voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), and directivity. These parameters provide insights into the antenna’s impedance matching, bandwidth coverage, radiation efficiency, and directional characteristics. Through rigorous analysis and experimentation, the chapter aims to assess the suitability of the proposed dual-band microstrip patch antenna for various wireless communication applications. The findings contribute to the ongoing advancements in antenna design and technology, offering valuable insights into the performance characteristics and potential practical applications of dual-band microstrip patch antennas in modern communication systems.
