Abstract

5G is getting attention in almost every field of life owing to its capacity for higher data rates, lower latency, and higher bandwidth as well. 4G has already been implemented for wireless communication but couldn’t fulfill the inflating demands of modern mobile users such as cloud services, video streaming, and social applications. To meet these requirements, ITU has set another standard called 5G, which includes several frequency bands from sub-6 GHz to millimeter wave frequency (30 GHz–300 GHz) bands. The millimeter-wave spectrum also finds its application in IoT for the virtualization of devices, services, and things connected in the network. The chapter aims at 5G communication, infrastructure, architecture, specifications, usage scenarios, 5G components, and technologies, along with the application of machine and deep learning in IoT using energy-efficient antennas for 5G.
