Abstract

The present era is in demand for the design and development of nanocarriers with advanced properties, targeting and treatment of numerous diseases or disorders. As compared to conventional drug delivery systems, nanocarriers exhibit better efficiency, less toxicity, and better stability characteristics. The reason might be the nano size range and spatial targeting and drug delivery using the nanocarriers. Several types of nanocarriers, such as liposomes, dendrimers, polymer-drug conjugates, nanoemulsions, nanocapsules, nanospheres, metallic nanoparticles, and carbon nanotubes, and so forth, have been synthesized for drug delivery. Integration of artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) and nanotechnology has pronounced prospective in attaining the objective of precise medicine for the advancement of management options for various diseases or disorders such as cancer. The present chapter discusses the convergence of nanotechnology and AI/ML in the investigation and development of nanocarriers. The discussion also includes the advantages, limitations, and future prospects of AI/ML in the scale-up of nanocarriers.
