Abstract

The creation of a full-fledged multifunctional artificial intelligence is impossible without understanding mental processes and the nature of consciousness. This review of theoretical and experimental studies of the quantum nature of the psyche and consciousness is based on the author’s results showing the connection between quantum and mental processes. Numerous studies confirm the quantum nature of mental processes and consciousness. The author introduced the concept of an elementary unit (quantum) of consciousness and proposed a formula for calculating the degree of consciousness of any living organism. Analysis of the presented data leads to the conclusion that adequate modeling and reproduction of mental processes with the manifestation of consciousness and multifunctional intelligence is possible only on quantum computers with a structure corresponding to the real structure of the psyche. It is well described by the extended information model of the psyche, proposed by the author, in socionics (or psychoinformatics) as the theory of information metabolism. Socionics is a science about the information interaction of the psyche with the outside world, the models of which are effectively used in practice in psychology, psychiatry, aviation, astronautics, management, pedagogy, sports, etc., because they adequately describe mental processes, differences in the strategies of behavior and thinking of people. The author significantly developed the basic socionic model, 232introducing the coordinating function of consciousness and the description of the internal structure of mental functions, and showed that the hierarchy of these functions can be modeled as a special system from a number of specialized quantum processors. This provides the basis for the development of a fundamentally new architecture of future quantum systems of artificial intelligence.
