Abstract

In this chapter, the use and effectiveness of the WASPAS approach in different decision-making problems will be discussed and especially the WASPAS technique with complex fuzzy rough aggregation operators will be used in the government and defense sectors to provide a more robust decision-making framework regarding cybersecurity issues. This method combines in itself the strengths of fuzzy logic, rough sets, and multicriteria decision-making to address issues of uncertainty and vagueness in cyber security issues. By using complex fuzzy rough sets, it models multifaceted parameters like threat severity, vulnerability exploitation likelihood, and resource criticality. It is the methodology of WASPAS that combines both weighted sum and weighted product strategies for evaluating and ranking potential countermeasures or system configurations under uncertain conditions. In government and defense, it ensures the proper evaluation and prioritization of cybersecurity risks and, therefore, proactive mitigation of threats. The model has been applied to classify and assess cyber-resilient network architectures where data is imprecise and decisions are time-critical.
