This chapter gives an introduction to generative AI with several examples. It covers three important topics to help you get started with learning GenAI. One is that you will get the big picture of why we need GenAI. Second is the GenAI tech stack and ecosystem that teaches you all the different technology layers of GenAI with the ecosystem of key technology players. The third outlines its impact on business, industries, and ethics to help you understand how GenAI is being applied in different industries so you can see the big picture of creating impact from the technology. Also, in many of the chapters, there is a state of research to help you get a balanced view between innovation and future research directions on this field. The goal is not only to help you learn GenAI but also to get clarity on where you can contribute on the innovation or research side.
