Abstract

Despite the inherent constraints of the Earth’s traditional electricity supplies, the need for energy is always increasing as a result of population growth and industrialisation. Currently, the use of fossil energy resources has increasingly negative consequences on the global ecosystem [ 1 , 2 ]. In this context, there must be an immediate necessity to adopt environmentally secure and environmentally friendly energy sources. Sustainable energy is the huge, underutilized solution to the two main challenges of the twenty-first century, poverty, and global warming. The energy produced from renewable sources not only provides a clean, flexible power source for homes, schools, and hospitals, but it also could provide important and valuable jobs at the microto-medium scale. In this paper, different types of renewable based sustainable energy sources are discussed.
