Afterword
Abstract
The book’s afterword dives into the afterlives of post-1968 film programming, linking the sensibilities of New Queer Cinema (Cheryl Dunye’s The Watermelon Woman [1996] being illustrative) to the shifts in the programmatic taste production of the two decades prior. The conclusion then flashes forward to the current moment in queer film programming and reception, insisting on the continued vital importance of theatrical exhibition and spectatorship in the digital age.
