First person – Laryssa de Liz
Abstract
ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Laryssa de Liz is first author on ‘ Trypanosome bloodstream-specific flagellum attachment proteins can mediate attachment in an insect surface coat environment’, published in JCS. Laryssa conducted the research described in this article while a PhD student in Jack Sunter's lab at the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences, Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, UK. She is now a postdoc in the lab of Nicola Baker at the University of York, UK, investigating the molecular and cellular changes that trypanosomatids undergo during differentiation.
