ECR Spotlight – Emin Aydin
Abstract
ECR Spotlight is a series of interviews with early-career authors from a selection of papers published in Journal of Experimental Biology and aims to promote not only the diversity of early-career researchers (ECRs) working in experimental biology but also the huge variety of animals and physiological systems that are essential for the ‘comparative’ approach. Emin Aydin is an author on ‘ Flow impairs multisensory tracking and increases active sensing in weakly electric fish’, published in JEB. Emin is a PhD Candidate in the lab of Assoc. Prof. Ismail Uyanik at Hacettepe University, Ankara, Türkiye, investigating how animals integrate electrosensory, mechanosensory and visual information to generate active sensing and closed-loop tracking behaviours, using weakly electric fish as a model for multisensory control and bio-inspired robotics.
