Low-Code Empowerment: Layered Teaching Reform of AI Literacy for Liberal Arts College Students
Abstract
AI large models have emerged as a new generation of operating system-level tools, constituting a necessary digital literacy for every university student. The basic computer science course in college serves as the most appropriate gateway for improving students’ AI proficiency. This paper proposes a reform of basic computer education in arts and humanities colleges by integrating large AI models. The specific approach involves designing a series of hands-on experiments, including AI-assisted creation of legal-awareness videos, AI-generated mini-games for analysing complex legal cases, and the development of agents for various specialised tasks. Through these experiments, students not only improve their proficiency in using large models but also gain opportunities to undertake projects aligned with their majors and personal interests; mature outputs can even be directly deployed for operational use. By embedding AI education into the foundational computer curriculum, every student can acquire the capability to apply AI to academic, everyday-life, and career-related challenges, thereby fostering a core competency of “human-machine synergy” and laying a solid foundation for future AI-integrated disciplinary and professional endeavours.
