Auditory Target Detection Task (ATDT)
Abstract
Auditory Target Detection Task (ATDT) is a software tool developed in Python using the open source PsychoPy® library for conducting sustained attention experiments with continuous auditory stimuli. Participants listen to an audio file and are instructed to respond whenever a predefined target event occurs (e.g., a specific word). The software records responses, computes hits, reaction times, false positives, and false negatives, and exports results as CSV files compatible with common statistical software. Version 1.0 has been tested with PsychoPy Standalone 2023.2.3 and is designed as a reusable tool for experimental research in psychology and cognitive neuroscience.
