Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to analyze the scientific production on aging published in national journals in the fields of Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, and Tourism. To this end, we conducted a descriptive literature review subdivided into two parts: first, the selection and compilation of the literature; and second, the systematization, analysis, and interpretation of the data (using Content Analysis and Descending Hierarchical Classification). The results were organized into categories. The first category, “Pre-textual Elements,” was defined a priori, and revealed that the 27 scientific articles reviewed were published between 2005 and 2025, appeared in 24 different journals, and involved 67 authors affiliated, at the time of publication, with 26 distinct Higher Education Institutions. Four additional categories were derived a posteriori from the exploration of the articles’ content, addressing: “Aging and Its Economic Implications”; “Aging and the Work Environment”; “Aging and Its Social Implications”; and “Methodological Strategies.” Finally, we hope that our findings may inspire future research and contribute to scientific advancement regarding an important stage in the life cycle shared by all of us: aging. Keywords : Aging. Literature Review. Scientific Production.
