Abstract

USA Cycling used operations research, mixed-integer programming, and real-time analytics to optimize the women’s team pursuit squad’s race strategy. Project 4:05 transformed the team from sixth place at the 2023 World Championships to Olympic gold at Paris 2024, reducing finish time by eight seconds.
