Abstract

Ill health that results in absence from work is a significant concern for the NHS and the UK government, both in terms of healthcare staff sickness and loss of working time among the general public. This article describes a national pilot that implemented a tiered model of health and work support, aiming to provide timely access to appropriate services and help people return to, and remain in, employment.
