Abstract

Abstract Companies in sustainable development policies and the circular economy are receiving growing strategic interest, with sustainable development and trade gaining increasing recognition and significance. Currently, policies in sustainable development and industry competitiveness are of particular interest. Sustainability management is at the core of international forest policies. The bioeconomy strives for competitiveness; it includes ecosystem services and promotes a value chain based on forest ecosystem services. Policies and regulations play a critical role in advancing these efforts, and standards and certifications are essential in the global marketplace. Forest certification within the value chain is a key component of corporate social responsibility, and sustainable development is also closely linked to the bioeconomy policy framework. This qualitative research draws on academic scientific databases and policy literature to explore these interconnected themes.
