the essay tries to articulate a theoretical reflection on Kundera’s The Unbearable Lightness of Being. The aim will be identifying the philosophical context of the novel and developing some of the main philosophical themes that emerge from the narration: the aesthetic function of the novel, the dialectic lightnessheaviness, the role of decision. In particular, will be attributed more emphasis, according to this proposal, to the most important metaphysical dynamic: recognize the beauty of existence in the acceptance of circumstances that make the form of life; discuss the decision that resolves gravity, blessing case as whole of coincidences that constitute moments of highest happiness.
