Abstract
The author claims that the main challenge to democracy today is represented by neoliberalism, which reveals the intrinsically antidemocratic nature of capitalism. The shift to another order requires a situated thinking in order to discern potentialities and maintain directionality. Some recent Latin American populist experiences may perhaps show some possibility of recreating democracy
