Abstract

values ranged from 1.1 to 1.9, and showed significant positive correlations with labile components, such as aliphatic (C-H) and amide (N-H) groups. Those results indicated that the rapid response of these active carbon pools was key to driving temperature sensitivity. Through elucidating the regional coupling between SOC molecular characteristics and temperature sensitivity in the permafrost of the Greater Khingan Mountains, our results offer a molecular-scale theoretical basis for accurately assessing the permafrost carbon-climate feedback potential.
