High-performance 3D terahertz detector based on a Co 3 Sn 2 S 2 thin-film triple-layer rectangular structure
Abstract
6G communication aims to surpass 5G by achieving higher transmission rates, lower latency, and greater connection density, thereby building an intelligent network connecting everything. The terahertz band demonstrates immense potential in 6G technology applications. However, existing terahertz detectors suffer from high noise and low response, while high-precision detectors face challenges in mass production. To address this, we designed a high-performance terahertz detector combining metamaterial structures with Weyl semimetal thin films. Fabricated using high-precision 3D printing and magnetron sputtering techniques, this detector enables low-cost, repeatable processing. Furthermore, our proposed terahertz detector achieves a photoresponsivity of 9847.77 mA/W at 0.1 THz, with noise equivalent power reduced to 3.50 pW Hz-1/2. We also explore the multifunctional potential of the device by modulating it with an external light field, contributing to advancing 6G technology into a new phase.
