Abstract

The presented proposal focuses on a magneto-optically engineered multilayered structure enabling polarization conservation and magnetic-field-induced tunability of reflected light at 1550 nm. A ZnSe prism, a synthesized SiN x dielectric, and a Ce:YIG magneto-optic layer form the design, optimized to support total internal reflection with conserved polarization at 67.53°. By applying 0–360 mT magnetic fields, the structure facilitates dynamic modulation of reflected light’s phase angle, amplitude ratio, orientation angle, ellipticity, and handedness. Achieving full 2 π phase angle tunability, linear to elliptical to circular polarization transitions, and rotation angles up to 135°, this work demonstrates superior polarization control, offering significant potential for tunable photonic and beam-steering applications.
