Liquid combs: broadband light with equidistance and without stability
Abstract
We develop a frequency-resolved characterization technique that proves for the first time that semiconductor lasers can enter regimes in which the modes fluctuate over long timescales but remain equidistant. These liquid comb states are attractive since they maintain the order of true combs but typically cover wider bandwidths.
