Beam correction and conjugated waves
Abstract
Full-plane conjugation of a beacon wave is the ultimate case of the adaptive beam control for propagation in refractive random medium. Here we revisit the forty years old calculations [Lukin, Charnotskii, Sov. Phys. Journ., 28, 894-904, (1985)] of the mean irradiance of the beam created by a finite aperture conjugation. We use wave optics simulations to confirm these theoretical results and discuss some implications on the effectiveness of beacon-based beam control.
