Analyzing the OD spectra and particle size distribution of silver nanostructures prepared by the GLAD technique: utilizing flexible and stable oblique bases
Abstract
The glancing angle deposition (GLAD) technique is used to manipulate the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of silver nanostructures. We employ flexible and stable oblique bases to control LSPR by adjusting the glancing angle. In addition to the glancing angle, the deposition thickness and azimuthal rotation speed of the sample holder are key parameters for controlling the morphology of the silver nanostructures. In the GLAD technique, the ballistic shadowing effect induces the formation of nanoparticles with a Gaussian particle size distribution. However, when the glancing angle is zero, the particle size distribution of silver nanoparticles deviates from a Gaussian distribution.
