Abstract

We evaluate the Raman gain properties of a 15-mode, field-deployed graded-index fiber. Single-mode group pumping yields 6.5 dB mode-differential gain with gain below 8.4 dB when pumping the fundamental mode and nearly uniform gain when pumping higher-order modes.
