On the Exterior Dirichlet Boundary Value Problem for The Stokes Resolvent Equations in Two Dimensions
Abstract
With methods of hydrodynamical potential theory we construct an explicit solution of the Stokes resolvent boundary value problem in 2d exterior domains with C1,a boundaries, 0 < a ≤ 1. The potential ansatz for the solution can be chosen in such a way that the resulting system of Fredholm boundary integral equations of second kind is uniquely solvable for small values of the resolvent parameter l and that the limiting procedure l→ 0 is possible, which is important for the decay in time behavior of the nonstationary Stokes solution.
