Chemical recycling of furan-based polyesters – an overview
Abstract
The current state of knowledge in the field of chemical recycling of poly(ethylene 2,5-furandicarboxylate) (PEF) is presented, with particular emphasis on effective depolymerization methods such as methanolysis, hydrolysis, and glycolysis. New directions of development of PEF recycling technology were discussed in the aspect of environmental challenges within the circular economy.
