Abstract

Two archaeological investigations were undertaken north of Ashford at Eureka Business Park, Boughton Aulph and at Bramble Lane, Wye by Archaeology South-East in advance of redevelopment. The excavations identified two farmsteads, a series of field systems and three burials in use between the Late Iron Age and the earlier Roman period. A moderate assemblage of finds was also recovered, most notably a relatively diverse range of metalwork finds including tools and personal ornaments, suggesting the presence of high-status settlement such as a villa nearby.
